About us
Our story
It all began in 1958 on Rua Iatai, in the Casa Verde neighborhood of São Paulo. At the time it was known as CRON, a name taken from its founders: César, Rosa, Orlando, and Nilson.
The name SUPRENS emerged on August 5, 1966, derived from the words SUper PRENSa (super press).
At the time of founding, vehicles were produced abroad and the Brazilian automotive industry worked almost exclusively as an assembly line — hence the need for auxiliary parts.
The first production line started with a product that is still with us today: the PRESIL clamp, followed by MICRO.
Output then was 3 to 4 thousand parts per month — more than most imagined. That production used fairly rudimentary, craft-like processes, but always aiming for the highest quality, for which we are still known today.
Gradually the product line diversified. Wire clamps arrived in 1962, FLEXIL in 1963, MICRO in 1965, and a range of related products such as hood hinges, locking plates, grille mounting brackets, and more.
In 1968 SUPRENS products began to be promoted outside the state of São Paulo. We appointed representatives in Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, and Minas Gerais, and soon reached all of Brazil.
In 1969 we crossed borders, starting with Bolivia, and from 1973 we extended our products to nearly all of Latin America, the United States, Nigeria in Africa, and Central America.
